The National Assembly's audit of government agencies has revealed that unintended outflows of technology are posing a threat to Korea's R&D; sector.
According to the audit's findings, Korean technology leaked over the past five years has resulted in a monetary loss of more than W253 trillion (US$1=W1,171).
A total of 160 cases were tallied during that same time period, 73 of which were in the electronics industry. The majority of cases were in the private sector, and former or current employees were responsible for the leaks.
