Posted on December 7, 2016

Well-known global payments technology firm, Visa Inc. has now opened a new business process outsourcing (BPO) hub in the Philippines. The firm has handpicked the Philippines as one of the four 24/7 service centers worldwide.

Located at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City, the Visa’s Philippine hub has 6,300 square meters of state-of-the-art facility and houses 750 employees who will provide support services to Visa cardholders and clients worldwide.

The Visa’s Philippine hub provides consumer support services for Visa’s global customer care services group. Soon, the hub will expand to include merchant support. In the near future, the Philippines hub will also cater to debit-processing services and technology.

Visa’s Asia group executive for Asia Pacific, Chris Clark stated, “The new business processing center further demonstrates Visa’s commitment to the Philippines as we work with our clients and merchants to expand access to electronic payments. As the world’s largest retail electronic payments network, I am proud we are investing in our people here in the Philippines and supporting the country’s growth.”

The Philippines has a huge labor pool of young, educated, and English-fluent workforce. Gradually, Philippines has successfully earned its title as one of the top outsourcing destinations for information technology-business process outsourcing (IT-BPO) operations for several huge US companies. Currently, Philippines employs more than 1.2 million people in the IT-BPO industry.

The new BPO hub in the Philippines expands Visa’s global support services tracks and is an important milestone for the multinational global payments technology firm. Aside from this, the hub strengthens Visa’s position as an employer of choice in Asia-Pacific.

In over 200 countries and territories, Visa Inc. provides payments technology that connects businesses, consumers, governments, and financial institutions to have secure, reliable, and fast electronic payments.

Visa Inc. operates VisaNet which is considered as one of the most advanced processing networks in the world. Visa Net can handle more than 65,000 transaction messages within a second, has fraud protection for consumers, and assured payments for merchants.
